  1. This is fantastic! I have yet to try out a print and cut project, mostly because I don’t care for the quality of the prints from my printer…now I have a way around that! Thanks for the easy instructions, maybe I’ll try it out for my “We’ve Moved” cards that I’ll be sending out soon! TFS!

  3. These are really fun. I’ve wanted to try print and cut but my printer is not the greatest. I guess it’s not that hard to run to the store to have them printed (and a lot cheaper than buying a new printer or cartridge). Thanks for sharing.

  4. These turned out beautifully – Love your design.
I used Bullzip in my project this month too – It really opens up more possibilities with the cameo doesn’t it?
I really like the idea of giving books instead of cards for a baby shower too.

  5. Even though I have a working printer, I often take things to the pros to get the quality… and not have to worry about running out of ink at invitation 25 of 30 or something. I would not have thought to print a print and cut to a pdf and take it elsewhere, but why not? Great tip… I will use that one!!!

  7. Hi Meredith,
I love everything about this baby shower invitation, especially the “Subway Art” style! I think it’s a great idea to ask guests to bring books for the baby! I’m really looking forward to seeing the rest of the party details. I’m so glad to be a part of this fabulous Silhouette Challenge group!

  8. Wow, Meredith. These are SO professional looking! You really do have quite the eye for graphic design (and know how to rock Silhouette Studio like nobody’s business). If and when you start that etsy shop, these need to be one of your first items up for sale! Seriously – – I’m in love!

  9. Meredith,
There is going to one happy Mommy, and new little baby happy that you took the time to make these special invitations. I love the idea of a Storybook instead of a card. Awesome job and I can not wait to see the pictures of the day.

    • Thanks so much Karen, that’s so sweet! The shower was wonderful…I’m excited to share some photos and project tutorials in the coming weeks!

    • Thanks, Jessica!! It’s not a habit I want to get into (color copies are so expensive these days!) but it is perfect for an occasion like this. And much cheaper than paying someone else to make them, haha.

  10. These came out great and you may have given me the courage to try the whole print and cut thing! I’ve owned a cameo for two years now and the craziest I ever get with it is to cut vinyl. Pinning for sure!

    • Oh, print and cut is SO easy, and so rewarding! If I had a color printer, I think I would do it so often. It creates so many possibilities! And it’s really pretty incredible the way the Silhouette reads the registration marks and knows exactly where to cut!

  11. Wow, I absolutely love these invitations. The typography is just beautiful. I’m definitely going to bookmark this. I have so many friends who would be so impressed if I did this invitation for them.

    • Thanks so much, Lauren! It took a lot of tweaking to get the invite to look the way I wanted…but I was very happy with the final result!

  12. Beautiful job! Do you happen to remember where you found the rain drops and heart shower backkground? That would work so well for me.

    • Thanks! I actually created the raindrop pattern myself in Photoshop, using a free png file of a raindrop I found…I tried including the heart into the pattern, but I didn’t like it being so “regular”, so I ended up erasing a raindrop and adding a heart here and there.

  13. My question is where dod you get the background image with the rain drops? and the umbrella? Are these stock photos you are buying or are you drawing them. Creating the pattern yourself?

    • Hi Olivia, I think the umbrella started as free clip art that I modified myself, the raindrops/heart background was a pattern I created in Photoshop.

stay-at-home mom to three beautiful children, wife to an incredible husband, and daughter of a loving God. I freely admit that I am not always the most creative or original person when it comes to crafting, decorating, organizing, cooking, etc...but I love being inspired by great ideas and putting my own spin on them! Look around, stay a while, and I hope through my *unoriginality* I can provide some inspiration to you, too!
