Looking for some free printable hand lettered October art for your fall decor? Download this beautiful print of the Anne of Green Gables quote “I’m so glad we live in a world where there are Octobers” to put in a frame and create a lovely fall vignette.
I’ve always loved this quote from Anne of Green Gables – “I’m so glad we live in a world where there are Octobers.” There are two distinct meanings behind it for me. The first is that I’m so thankful for the month of October, especially here in Pennsylvania. The beauty of fall is at its peak with so much color, clear blue skies, and crisp-but-not-cold weather. Pumpkin picking, apple cider, bonfires, leaf collecting, sweaters and blankets…I just love fall! The second is that I’m thankful for what October represents within the flow of the seasons. The leaves don’t just die and fall off the trees in preparation for winter – instead, there is beauty in the surrendering, and a time of harvest before the cold. Yes, I’m so glad we live in a world where there are Octobers!
I started this doodle as just a quick exercise in hand lettering practice, but then felt like I needed to share it with you as a little fall gift! It’s nothing fancy, but if you love this quote as much as I do, maybe you’d like to add it to your fall decor. You can grab this free printable in a square, 5×7, or 8×10 version to print and put in a frame.
Here’s a quick tip for free watercolor style printables like this one: I like to print directly on watercolor paper, because it looks a little more high-end that way. Cheap watercolor paper is actually better because it’s thinner and will go through your printer better!
