    • Thanks Mackenzie! I did a bulk order of 50 of them through Amazon back when I did the magnetic farm, but they’re no longer available :-( I had the hardest time finding them at a decent price anywhere else! I’ll be sure to update the post if I come across them again though.

  1. Ok, this is pretty genius! I love the portability of it, and how everything is housed together. Thanks for the great step-by-step instructions too. I’ll have to file this one away for when my son gets a little older…..and no longer tries to eat all the colored pencils. ;)

  2. I too was wondering where you found the DVD tins? I was looking on line and there are so many different ones to choose from. HELP! Kate

    • I’m sorry Kate, I really don’t know where to find them! I bought a big box of 50 of them on Amazon several months ago when I was making a bunch of my magnetic farms for a busy bag swap…but they’re no longer available there :-( The other place I found that was out of stock was Meritline, but it looks like they’re still out of them too. If you find a place that has them, come back and let me know! But in the meantime, I bet you could do something similar with a plastic DVD case!

  3. Hello, I love your coloring case. I saw your travel farm case last year and had to make something similar for my son using his favorite superheroes. I found DVD tins at this website in bulk:

I just checked, and they are on back order until July, but they have others available with windows cut in the front or square indents that could be easily covered with vinyl or sticker paper.

    • Thanks so much for sharing! Just for other’s reference, Meritline also has other tin CD & DVD cases available, just not the plain DVD cases without windows like I used (they are also out of stock and have been since October when I was originally looking). But you’re right, those windows could be creatively covered up – great idea!

    • Hi Berenice, I don’t currently make them for sale, but you might be able to find something similar on Etsy!

stay-at-home mom to three beautiful children, wife to an incredible husband, and daughter of a loving God. I freely admit that I am not always the most creative or original person when it comes to crafting, decorating, organizing, cooking, etc...but I love being inspired by great ideas and putting my own spin on them! Look around, stay a while, and I hope through my *unoriginality* I can provide some inspiration to you, too!
